8200 Germantown Ave. Project Design Slightly Modified

A mixed-use project at 8200 Germantown Ave. (Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia) recently has some updates and changes to the design of the mixed-use portion of the overall plan, which includes a 20,000 square-foot The Fresh Market grocery store topped by four stories of condominiums, with a maximum overall height of 60 feet from street level. The fifth-floor residences which once had balconies that would overlook Germantown Avenue now have enclosed spaces. Continued Growth on South Street West (Philadelphia)

There has been steady new construction and rehabilitation all along the once-derelict blocks of western South Street from Broad to the Schuylkill River. New restaurants, new shops, new offices, re-opening of South St bridge, and two real estate development projects by Toll Brothers (The nearly completed Naval Square, and the soon to be constructed 2400 South).
