Happy 60th Birthday Levittown, PA

Levittown Bucks County PA is 60 years old. Building took place from 1951 to 1957 and the end of World War II was the start of the Philadelphia suburb — Levittown. This was built for the middle class to achieve the american dream of home ownership. By 1958, the 17,311 single-family homes had spread out over Bristol Township, Falls, Middletown and Tullytown, and housed 70,000 people.

Summertime Energy-Saving Tips

Summer started this week and in Philadelphia, PA it was hot and humid in the 90′s. Today I will share with you some summertime energy-saving tips that will reduce your electric energy bills.

Be a speedy chef — Nothing is more energy efficient for cooking than your microwave. It uses two-thirds less energy than your stove.
Push a button to wash your dishes — Your dishwasher uses less water than washing dishes by hand. Then let dishes air-dry to save even more!
Fill up the fridge — Having lots of food in your fridge keeps it from warming up too fast when the door is open. So your fridge doesn’t have to work as hard to stay cool.
Turn up your thermostat — you save: 1 – 3 percent per degree, for each degree the thermostat is set above 72 degrees
Use your appliances wisely

• Do your laundry efficiently by using the warm or cold water setting for washing your clothes. Always use cold water to rinse clothes.
• Line dry clothes whenever you can.
• Conserve energy by running your dishwasher only when it is fully loaded, and turn off the dry cycle and air dry dishes instead.
• Turn off appliances, lights and equipment when not in use.
